Winn-Dixie to Rebrand Parent Company, Refocus on Florida Expansion

Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket, will rebrand as The Winn-Dixie Company in early 2026, marking a return to its Florida roots and a renewed focus on long-term growth.
The Jacksonville-based grocer said the move honors Winn-Dixie’s century-long legacy while modernizing its stores, private-label assortment, and customer experience. Plans include dozens of remodels, new liquor store locations, and pilots for third-party grocery delivery and return kiosks.
“As we enter our next century as The Winn-Dixie Company — a brand-new 100-year-old company — we’re accelerating growth where our roots run deepest,” Anthony Hucker, CEO, said in a statement. “We’re staying true to our purpose of feeding and enriching the communities, families, and neighbors who have supported us for generations.”
As part of a Florida-first strategy, Winn-Dixie will acquire and rebrand three Hitchcock’s Markets and open new locations across the state through 2026. The company will also transition ownership of most stores outside Florida while maintaining select Georgia locations.
When complete, The Winn-Dixie Company will operate about 130 grocery stores and 140 liquor stores across Florida and southern Georgia — positioning the iconic banner for its next century of service.
